INTERNSHIP

As the only massage therapy school in Idaho that is located in a hospital, The College of Massage Therapy can provide experience through the hospital internship. The need for this training is on the increase as the health care professionals are recognizing the value of massage and its healing effects on patients.

Through specific study and instruction by The College of Massage Therapy and hospital staff, students are introduced to the unique environment of the hospital or health care setting. Students are trained to take into consideration the medical condition of the patient as well as how to work around medical equipment.

CAREER OUTLOOK

Being a massage therapist requires empathy, good communication skills and a devotion to understanding your patients’ needs on an individual basis. Our program is built with an objective to give you the information and experience necessary for you to successfully:

  • Confer with clients about problems with stress, pain and their medical history
  • Develop and propose client treatment plans
  • Massage the muscles and soft tissues to treat pain conditions, injuries or to maintain overall wellness
  • Maintain records of treatment, response, and progress
  • Instruct clients about stretching and relaxation techniques for postural improvement
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan
